Vintage Extra Long Zuni 19 Turquoise Bear Fetish Heishi Necklace
This fabulous necklace dates to the 1970s. It features 19 hand carved turquoise bear fetishes arranged along a necklace of brown shell heishi. The clasp is entirely handmade from sterling silver, with handmade silver beads on either side of the clasp. There are 9 bears on each side of the necklace, plus an additional bear pendant on a short length of heishi and a turquoise bead. Turquoise beads on each side of this pendant add a beautiful finishing touch to the heishi. The extra long length of this necklace makes a powerful statement on its own, or allows it to be layered with other necklaces.
Total length is 38 inches, with a 1-1/2 inch pendant drop. Each bear measures 1 x 3/4 inches and is 5 mm. thick. The heishi measure 4 mm. in diameter.
Excellent vintage condition. Normal patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed.
