This very unusual necklace combines elements of both traditional Native American and Mexican craftsmanship. The 18 individually handmade black pottery birds originate from Oaxaca. They are arranged along a strand of black shell heishi. Around the back of the neck is a length of the traditional wrapped cord often seen in antique Native American heishi necklaces.

Length is 33 inches. Each bird measures about 1 x 1/2 inch.
