Midcentury Royal WKS Japanese Ox-Blood Maroon Hand-Painted Gourd Shape Vases

$75.00

This lovely pair of glass vases dates to the 1950s. The Midcentury colors and styling partner perfectly with traditional Japanese design. Each has a slightly different hand-painted design showing a pagoda and birds in a mountainous landscape. The vases are a deep ox-blood maroon color, with an undercoat of burnished gold. Normal vintage wear has worn away the maroon paint in some areas, revealing the beautiful antique gold beneath. The vases are a very interesting shape, like a twisted gourd. Marked Royal (in script) WKS MADE IN JAPAN.

Measure 7-1/4 inches tall, 3-1/2 inches wide at greatest diameter.

Excellent vintage condition.
