Midcentury Vintage Wood Inlay Marquetry Duck Motif Bookends

$120.00

This beautiful set of Midcentury Modern bookends dates to the 1950s. Each solid wood bookend weighs 1-1/2 pounds. They have a strong geometric presence. Inlaid into the face of each is a finely detailed marquetry duck in flight. The 4 edges of this face are beveled and set with black wood. On the base of each bookend is the original dark green felt.

Each bookend measures 6 inches tall, 5-1/2 inches wide, and 3-3/4 inches deep.

Both are in very good vintage condition, with only minor bumps and scratches. One bookend does have 2 deeper parallel scratches, each about 1-1/4 inches long, towards the bottom of the face. These do not enter the inlay or detract from the beauty of these objects.
